wow. just wow.
the sky is so bright - almost looks artificially bright, as if it's being illuminated from something behind your camera... with the exception of the horizon, which is more reminiscent of somewhere decidedly dickensian... indeed, it does look at little victorian, with the architecture of the clock, and that lacy, cloudy sky. and the contrast between the brilliance of the sky with that gorgeous dark clock is just beautiful. very well done. wow. i really love the contrast between the two; the clock is so dark it's nearly playing second fiddle to the sky, but my eye is drawn ultimately to the clock, shrouded on all sides by that brilliant sky, both brooding and heavenly. bravo :+fav:

Great shot, you've managed to get a perfect combination with the powerful contrast of a silhouetted scene against the sky while not loosing the details of the clockfaces.
The old apperance of the photo due to the use of Black and White, and the noise in the image, reflects the traditional design of the clock very nicely. :)

Thanks very much! It was a choice between overexposing the sky or underexsposing the clock, and I went with the latter - I like the depth and the power of the sky, and I think the deliberately underexposed clock and background structures do add well to the atmosphere. I want the viewer's eye to be drawn to the sky as much as to the clock, and it sounds like I've done that.

Thank you very much! I'm glad you like it, and I'm glad I made the decision I did about how to expose the shot, sounds like it works well.
